River City Church

The first recorded church in Minneapolis has been pointing people to Jesus Christ since 1853. We were charged with developing a new brand (including logo, photo, video, and web) that's strong and timeless while full of movement and life.

A historical brand with a modern vibe

From welcome flyers to billboards to apparel to Canva templates (to make it extra easy for River City Church's admin team to create their own creative pieces), we threaded the new visual language into every touchpoint of the church.

Distinct, consistent colors and a sleek serif font help reinforce immediate brand recognition.

Honoring a legacy

Sometimes the best way to envision the future is by looking through the past. We developed a beautiful timeline full of stories of the congregation; watershed moments in history that honor the the church's heritage while celebrating their generations of hard work.

A new chapter

River City Church navigated many, many adventures throughout its years. Their latest endeavor was no exception. Recognizing an opportunity to spread the Gospel message of Jesus to a new demographic, the church sold its church home of over 130 years in downtown Minneapolis and replanted in the melting pot of Northeast MPLS. We were privileged to help them communicate clearly and emotively throughout this season.

We're grateful for the vibrant partnership with River City Church and the humble task of reflecting its people, respecting its history, and appealing to curious people looking into the church community and the hope that's found in Jesus Christ.

We love working with Switchboard. Their work is excellent, they love what they do, and they take on each project as if it was their very own. They have worked hard to understand our needs, and it feels like working with a partner who is truly invested in our goals and outcomes. They have become like family to us.
